1.) The Amazing Adventures of the Princesses from Planet STEM, Erin Albert

What inspired your book?
The dismal statistics on girls growing up and not choosing STEM careers, unfortunately. Women who choose STEM make closer to pay parity vs. men than other professions, and the growth of future careers in general lies in STEM. So, we must engage women and girls in areas of STEM in order to create gender parity and close the pay gap more quickly. I also conducted a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to give copies away to the Indiana State Public Library system – and was successful, so the first book at least should be in your local Indiana public library. It also landed me an opportunity to speak and mentor at SXSW this year – I’m grateful for the entire experience!

What do you love about life in Indy? The cost of living is affordable, which is doubly exciting for entrepreneurs and those who are building businesses out there.

Where can you get a copy? The first book is sold out in hardcopy, but still available as an ebook at Amazon.  The second (activity) and third (coloring) books are still available in hardcopy at my author Square store

2.) Chance The Incredible Wonderful, Three- Legged Dog and his adventures, By Carolyn Sullivan Moore

What is your book about?

FullSizeRender 6.jpg

My book series “Chance, The Incredible, Wonderful, Three-Legged Dog” tell stories about Chance, my rescue Morkie. He is a three-legged dog my son found in Kentucky on his way home from a trip south. Chance is a wonderful example of love and acceptance of things that are not perfect. Chance was rescued despite the fact he had only three legs. We never carried him around; we taught him to stand up for himself on his own three legs and he does!! The first book the series is about how we rescued him. The second is about making friends when you think that person would never fit you. You never know where your best friend will come from! The third book I just wrote and is about getting outside and all the adventures you can have when you take a walk or a bike ride or get in the car and go! I also have a book out that is not in the series I am hoping to get published I am super excited about; more on that to come!

What do you love about life in Indy?

Indy is a good sized city, but just small enough to be able to explore it all. It is super walk and bike friendly, and pet friendly, too!! Of course we have great events for everyone to get involved with such as the Indy 500, and lots of things for children to do. There are so many creative people doing creative things.

What is your book about? Her latest book, Zoe the Zebra, is about a little zebra who is bored with her stripes and seeks to fit in with the other colorful animals in the wild.  It is through her many adventures to change that she discovers her stripes are part of what makes her uniquely Zoe.

5.) Adventures with Dolly and Jett, Always by my side, by Jill Robbins

What is your book about?

Adventures with Dolly and Jett, Always by my side, is a story about a boy and his giant dog.  The story captures their love at first sight from the first day they met to their growing interactions with one another as Jett becomes mobile.

What inspired your book?

Ready Nancy Tillman's books, including On the night you were born, inspired me to capture the bond between Dolly and Jett.  Dolly is a 140 pound English Mastiff that was only 8 months old when Jett was born.  A puppy with that much girth and energy, was extremely gentle with a new baby; which was amazing to watch.

What do you love about life in Indy?

Indy is great place to live with lots of options for fun outings.  We love taking Jett for long walks with his Dolly dog, visiting the Indianapolis Zoo, Children's Museum and Connor Prairie.  Indy has a lot of great new restaurants for all to enjoy
