Follow Me: Top Indy Mommy Bloggers
It’s simple. Moms love Mommy Bloggers. We find a voice we connect with and we easily fall down a rabbit hole of stories and insights about parenthood and all the feels. So, who are those voices in Indy? Here are 9 to follow . . .
Who: theCityMoms <-- all one word ;)
Vibe: Parenting life in and around the greater Indianapolis area
Social Media: @theCityMoms on everything
Why we rock: We are the largest social and support network for moms in the greater Indianapolis area. We strive on maintaining a positive and loving network for our members, offer up to 15 different in-person meetups a week from playdates to MNOs and love connecting our moms to the Indy community. We're here to keep modern motherhood in check and use our blog as an outlet for just that.
What do we love about life in Indy? Indianapolis is such a diverse and thriving city, packed with lots of things to enjoy as a family, as a parent and as an individual. The passion that courses through from the folks who live here is equally as enormous and makes us proud to call Indy home.
Favorite national blogger: Tough one because with as many members as we have, everyone has a favorite! But we'd like to nominate The Motherchic for her well, chic take on motherhood.
Who: Tara, the Indy Coupon Mama. I am a retired army wife/deputy wife. Originally from Kansas, my family traveled to different duty stations and somehow ended up in Indianapolis for our last set of orders. I am Lupus Survivor, as I like to call it. I have been beating that disease for over 30 years now, I think that makes me a survivor. I have 3 teenage boys and it keeps things rather interesting, but has taught me how to shop smart and save on groceries, clothing etc.
Vibe: I may have lost any chance of having a vibe when I started raising teenage boys. But I honestly try to help others as much as I can. I try to be compassionate and remember that people are struggling. So if I can teach people to grow container plants in their backyard to save a little extra or to show them to shop smart and plan meals off the weeks sale items, then I try my best to help them with that. My grandfather always used the phrase about teaching a man to fish, and I just try to remember that everyday.

Why you rock: I am not sure if I rock. I never know what to say when people tell me that I rock. Because I wasn't trying to achieve accolades. I am blunt sometimes in my social media groups. I am honest, I try to be as helpful as possible. Even if that means answering questions until 3am via messenger. I work for peanuts, but when I get the messages that tell me that someone was able to buy their kids the gift they wanted because they saved on groceries all year and could afford more for Christmas. That makes everything I do worth it.
What do you love about life in Indy? I fell in love with Indy while my husband was still Active Duty Army and we decided to retire here. There is always something to do in the area. The diversity of cultures is amazing. I wanted my children to grow up in a town that was diverse and offered more than the small town I was from. I think my boys are better for being raised here. My youngest has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and is a giant. Having two amazing Children's Hospitals within a 30 minute drive from my home was another reason we decided to stay. Plus the schools, look at some of the amazing colleges just here in the Indianapolis Area. You can go to almost any sporting event in the Circle City. From baseball, basketball, football and soccer.
Favorite National Blogger: Personally I love to read the different blog and social media status from thatsinappropriate.com I think we all probably have had a moment or two raising kids where things might go a bit haywire. She just puts it out there. Much like I do in real life, but it's there to read and laugh and know you aren't alone. From going to bathroom in peace to some of the stinky icky moments of raising boys, I can totally relate to what she posts.

What do you love about life in Indy? I always enjoy exploring the city and the surrounding areas. Indy is super laid back and wide open compared to other cities. I really enjoy being able to go downtown and explore or somewhere like Carmel or Zionsville without having to fight for parking or being stuck in so many people it's impossible to move! There are lots of fun things to do around here for kiddos too, which of course I'm obsessed with!
