Working Mama Spotlight on Brittany Miller

Where do you live now: Noblesville

Education: BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Purdue University

Career: I have been a Registered Dietitian for almost 5 years. My husband and I own a gym together, Force Barbell, in Fishers.  Last year, I took a huge leap and quit my corporate job to come on full time at the gym! It has been a wonderful transition for our family and a much better fit career wise. I help with administrative work as well as some nutrition counseling.

Family life: My husband, Tyler, and I have been married for 4.5 years. We have a 2.5 year old named Zeke and a dog named Bourbon.

Favorite Indy Eats: The Garden Table, Stone Creek

Favorite family fun spot/activity: We love Jump N Play in Noblesville. It is in expensive and so much fun! We also enjoy spending time at the zoo and Conner Prairie.

Favorite "me-time" activity: My favorite “me-time” activity is getting a massage. It doesn’t happen too often but its amazing when it does!

What are you reading right now?  My husband and I just finished listening to the book “It’s Okay NOT to Share.” It was really fun to listen/read it together and discuss the concepts. It has given us a lot of new tools for our parenting toolbox.

Best Mom Moment: I joke that my best mom moment is when my son said his favorite place to eat is Chipotle. I love Chipotle!

Career Highlight(s): Quitting my corporate job to join my husband in running our gym full time. It was a huge leap of faith and has been such a blessing!

What you love about being a Hoosier? I love that almost everyone knows how to play Euchre!

As a child, what did you want to be when you grow up? I wanted to be a scientist!

My biggest mistake: Worrying what others may think of how I choose to raise my child or care for myself.  Letting that go has given me so much peace! We are all doing what we feel is best for ourselves and our families!

Career/Parenting advice you would like to share with other working mamas: Have grace for yourself! Momming is hard! And being a working mom is hard as well. Have grace for yourself in the moments you feel you may have “failed” in your own eyes and realize most of us are putting extra pressure on ourselves that no one else expects! Enjoy all the little moments with your kiddos!
